Outstanding Service Staff Achievements – 3 Cheers
Cheer 1 – Winners Are Grinners @ Our Honda Service Department. With much pleasure we congratulate 2 of our team members from our Honda Service Department, namely Apprentice Joseph Attana and Technician Joel Marsters. Joseph won the Honda Aust Apprentice Competition for NSW and Joel won the Honda Aust Technician Competition for NSW (2nd year in a row).
The prestigious award aims to recognise Honda technicians’ commitment to their technical training & skill development. To have the 2 only NSW winners working at OUR dealership and servicing OUR Honda customers cars is a great feeling for our business. Both men will travel to Melbourne this week for the final exams which includes a practical and written skills assessment. They will then travel to Thailand to tour dealerships with the ultimate winner of the finals also travelling to Jakarta for the Oceania finals.
A little about the boys & their wins, Joel started with our business as an Apprentice in 1998 and quickly moved to specialise in servicing Honda cars. With a 17 year history at Col Crawford’s, when asked the Top 5 things he loved most about his job his No. 1 was the lifelong friends he has made, 2. being a finalist for the 2nd year in a row was a highlight (although he would LOVE to win this year!), 3. the staff functions and Christmas parties we host, 4. earning tickets to attend events at the 2000 Olympics, and 5. also scoring himself Bledisloe Cup tickets (highly coveted as Joel is a Kiwi!). He also said he loves it when customers come in and know him by name and he also been known to have home baked treats brought to him by customers – he shares with his workmates of course!
Unlike Joel, Joseph has just started his career with Col Crawford’s, After finishing his HSC in 2013, he started his Apprenticeship with Honda in 2014. Now in his 2nd year with us, he also commented that he enjoys working with a great bunch of guys who always offer their expertise and help on the bigger jobs. He loved that we have so much experience in our team and that despite enjoying his TAFE classes at Brookvale and the theory componenet of his training he is still a little nervous about the finals exams this week.
Lots of frequent flyer points coming your way guys! Enjoy the experience and travel & let’s see if you can score a win or 2 in the finals!
Cheer 2 – Let’s here it for our newest Hyundai Master Technician – Jayson Cambourne. We are so lucky to have so many passionate & talented Technicians in our business who genuinely love working with cars and Jayson is just one of our star performers. He has just achieved Hyundai Master Technician status and acknowledgement from Hyundai Motor Corporation on his outstanding result. In fact, Jayson scored 296/300, 98.7% in the program and we understand that this score is the highest ever achieved! (Congrats to you Jason).
Jayson started his Apprenticeship with Col Crawfords 6 years ago and works in our Roger Street Brookvale Service Department. Living close by, in Manly Vale, when asked why he chose a career in the Automotive industry, Jayson said “ I just love fixing cars and the satisfaction that comes when a car comes in that is not working and I can fix it. Hyundai offer top level training, the cars are made well and I am a big fan.” Well done and well said Jayson, enjoy the accolades that come with your Master Technician status.
Cheer 3 – Congratulations to Holden Technician – Cameron Train. Cameron qualified and participated in Holden’s Technicians Guild Program, Regional Finals. For him to qualify was an achievement in itself so we would like to say well done. Cameron, who is based at our Garden St, Nth Narrabeen Dealership, worked hard to keep up-to-date with the new technical developments with the Holden product and was recognised for his good work. Unfortunately he did not walk away with a win but the acknowledgement in his hard work was recognised and appreciated.
